This summer the Webb Library will be offering a new summer camp for children interested in learning how to program. This free camp will last one week and will teach children the basic fundamentals of programming in a fun and engaging way. The camp will use a piece of software called Alice3 and videos to help teach the campers the basics of computer programming.
Alice is an innovative block-based programming environment that makes it easy to create animations, build interactive narratives, or program simple games in 3D. Unlike many of the puzzle-based coding applications Alice motivates learning through creative exploration. Alice is designed to teach logical and computational thinking skills, fundamental principles of programming and to be a first exposure to object-oriented programming.
The program begins on June 24th, 2019 and will end on June 28th, 2019. Seating is limited, so stop by the circulation desk during your next visit to sign up.
From 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Begins 6/24/2019 and Ends 6/28/2019
